Husbandry

Special thanks for the first two fotos to Rudolf Svensen, Norway and to Anders Salesjö, Sweden.

Distribution:
Eastern Atlantic: southwest Iceland and Foldenfjord, Norway to Brittany and Celtic Sea, excluding southern North Sea. Also recorded from Banyuls, western Mediterranean.

Biology:
Found usually offshore, 5-330 m on sand, mud, shell debris, gravel and corallines. Eggs found in mollusk shells, guarded by male.
Eggs are pear-shaped.
