Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Cespitularia erecta are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Cespitularia erecta, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Cespitularia erecta, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Very special thanks for the first photo of Cespitularia erecta to Dr. Michael P. Janes, Senior Aquatic Biologist, AquaTouch, Arizona, USA.
This coral is also called "ORA Efflatounaria", "ORA Blue Cespitularia" oder 2ORA Purple Cespitularia".

Cespitularia erecta is an endemic soft coral that occurs in Australia, with tones of pink and purple, the polyps are significantly brighter, there are also examples in light brown with brown polyps and light pink with dark polyps.

Cespitularia erecta is counted to the not pumping xenia sp. and can be easily confused with Efflatounaria soft corals.
