Mandelia mirocornata Valdés & Gosliner, 1999
Mandela's nudibranch the only member of the genus Mandelia and the family Mandeliidae. The genus and family named honor Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa. The specific name is derived from the Latin mirus (odd) and cornus (horn) in reference to the peculiar shape of the rhinophores of this species.
The surface of the mantle is bumpy dirty white to brown , scattered wirh black spots or irregular brown stripes .
It is probably an endemic species.
Mandelia mirocornata feeds exclusively on sponges.
Similar to Triviella ovulata.
