Info

Neoferdina insolita Livingstone, 1936

Neoferdina insolita inhabits lagoons and seaward reefs and can be seen on ledges, in caves and under rocks. The starfish is best kept in well aged aquariums with various living rock formations containing algae films, organic films and detritus accumulations.

The starfish is rarely sold in specialist shops, so if you buy this animal, you should know that it can also eat small invertebrates.Essentially, however, Neoferdina insolita is a herbivore and detritus eater, an occasional feeding with algae pellets can prove beneficial.
An occasional feeding with small fish pieces or mussel meat is also recommended.

The starfish is susceptible to sudden changes in salinity/specific weight and should be slowly adapted to the aquarium water before being placed in the tank.
