Info
Alope spinifrons (H. Milne Edwards, 1837 [in Milne Edwards, 1834-1840])
Alope spinifrons has a short rostrum and a colour pattern of elongated bands in blue / green with a slight reddish tinge, but this colour combination gives the shrimp a rather brownish appearance.
The shrimp hides during the day in tide pools on rocky shores and in dark crevices that may well be above the water.
This shrimp is a pronounced scavenger of dead plants and animals, but is quite suitable for an aquarium as it is very peaceful.
Synonyms:
Alope palpalis White, 1847
Hippolyte spinifrons H. Milne Edwards, 1837 [in H. Milne Edwards, 1834-1840]
