Creseis acicula (Rang, 1828)

Creseis acicula is a small pelagic hind gill snail colloquially known as a sea butterfly. The name "sea butterfly" was derived from the snail's locomotion, which uses widened lobes of the parapodia that flap up and down like butterfly wings.

The body and shell of the snail are transparent.Creseis acicula occurs regularly in the coastal plankton of the Mediterranean Sea, the spawning season is in November / December.
