Info

Coryphella amabilis (Y. Hirano & Kuzirian, 1991)

The body is translucent white. The head is long and the foot corners are small. The rhinophores are smooth or wrinkled and often "frosted" with white, but can also have a white stripe on the back. The oral tentacles are often "frosted", but can also have a white stripe in the middle. The cerata are red or orange with white tips and form clusters. The anal opening is located under the third row of the second group of cerata.

In the Western Pacific, Coryphella amabilis is often covered with white spots. There is a short white stripe on the tail.

Coryphella amabilis occurs on rocks in the intertidal zone and in the shallow subtidal. It feeds on hydrozoans of the genus Eudendrium. In Japan, Coryphella amabilis feeds exclusively on Eudendrium boreale.

It can be confused with Pacifika amica and Coryphella verrucosa.
