Info

(Valenciennes, 1839)

Males and females of toothlip fish are usually the same color. Juveniles, on the other hand, are usually completely different from adults. They like to eat benthic, hard-shelled invertebrates such as crabs, mussels, snails and sea urchins.
Due to their size of a whole meter, they are not suitable for a typical home aquarium and should, if at all, be kept in an appropriate number of liters.

Care should therefore be reserved for zoos.

They are also popular edible fish!
