Compsanthias ventralis (Randall, 1979)
One of the prettiest flagfish and really rare to see, even super rare. If you keep flag perch at all, please keep them in a GROUP. They have a reputation for being very difficult to keep. There are occasional successes in keeping them. But all in all, it is and remains a flag perch that is not easy to keep.
Among other things, they are also quite sensitive to diseases and transportation stress. Jens Kallmeyer gave us a very important tip: according to FishBase and some other sources, Pseudoanthias parvirostris and Compsanthias ventralis seem to live at depths of over 30 meters and therefore require colder temperatures, around 22 to a maximum of 24 degrees are recommended.
If you are not prepared to cool your tank that much, you should refrain from keeping these fish. In addition, there are virtually no fluctuations in temperature, salinity, pH value etc. at such depths. This is probably one reason for the sensitivity of these species.
