The large Catala Sea Star has five cylindrical arms that end in a conical, dark orange or brown, point. The body colour is white or pink with scattered papillae. The sea star can be found on coral reefs from depths of 10 to 50 metres.Thromidia catalai is also known as Catala's Sea,Fat Sea Star, Heaviest Starfish or Brown Tipped Sea Star.
This sea star consume detritus.Its too large for most home aquaria.
