The backround colour is dark brown to black with orange-yellow, elongate, and narrow patches.The patches are yellow outlined.This Headshield slug lives under or on coral rubble in reefs at 8m to 13m depths.

The name "mandroros" is a Malagasy word and means to hallucinate.
