The photo of this nocturnal cardinalfish was taken at Brunai Darussalam.
Siphamia elongata is found in coastal, silty habitat on reefs amongst branching corals or with long-spined urchins, in depths to at least 15 meters (max. 309 meters concerning OBIS Environmental Information).
Siphamia elongata is also known from north-eastern Kalimantan, Indonesien.
