Chrysaora colorata (Russell, 1964)

Chrysaora colorata have a purple-striped bell (adults) of up to 70 cm diameter.Tentacles are 4-5 m in lenght.

Juveniles have long, thin, dark maroon tentacles and a pale pinkish bell that lacks the purple stripes.

The Purple-striped Jellyfish prey zooplankton,copepods, larval fish, ctenophores, salps, other scyphomedusa and fish eggs.

The tentacles can produce a painful sting.
