Actinoptilum molle (Kükenthal, 1902)
Actinoptilum molle is endemic to Southern Africa.
The colour is higly variable and can be yellow,white to cream,reddish,pinkish-mauve,deep purple to reddidh purple. Then the polyps retracted this sea pen shows a metalic sheen.
The Radial sea pen can be found on sandy or silt bottoms to a depht of 12-333 m. This Sea pen feed microscopic zooplankton.
