Elysia cornigera Nuttall, 1989

Nudibranch of genus Elysia feed primilary by piercing and sucking algae cells (chloroplasts).They are sap Sucking Slugs.Thats why Elysia is,like their food, often green.Young species are brownish or beige in colour.

Elysia cornigera has any opaque white pigments and small red spots on the body.The rolled rhinophores are also covered with papillae.The species name "cornigera" refers to the horn-like rhinophores.

Elysia cornigera feeds on Caulerpa algae and green algae genus Acetabularia (mermaid's wineglass).
