Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!

Diese Tiere kommen tatsächlich gelegentlich in den Handel. Ich habe ein Paar über MCM Menzel erworben. Eingewöhnung prinzipiell unproblematisch, gingen beide direkt an Frostfutter (Mysis, Artemia) als auch Trockenfutter (Flocken, Pellets). Das männliche Tier ist sehr aktiv und schwimmt den ganzen Tag sehr viel in wellenförmigen Bewegungen durchs Becken, zieht sich gelegentlich in Höhlen zurück. Das weibliche Tier ist sehr schüchtern, wird bei mir im Becken allerdings stark von einem Sechsstreifenlippfisch unterdrückt, offenbar stellt die streifenförmige Zeichnung der Weibchen hier ein Problem dar. Offenbar ist diese Art für Cryptocarion als Träger anfällig, aber recht robust. Beide hatten relativ starken Befall obwohl andere Fische im Becken keine oder nur sehr geringe Symptome zeigen, allerdings scheinen sie das auch eine Weile ganz gut wegzustecken, UV-Behandlugn brachte Besserung. Die Lippfische schlafen in Höhlen im Felsgstein, Bodgengrund scheint also nicht nötig zu sein. Interessantes Balzverhalten zu beobachten, vor allem abends schwimmt das Männchen das Weibchen in stark wellenförmigen Bewegungen zwischen Boden und Wasseroberfläche an, teilweise verfehlt er sie nur um weniger als 1-2 cm.
