Info

Color: bright metallic blue with brown scale edges and a silvery-lavender shading on the body and head, while animals from the Tuamotu Archipelago are described as green-blue with brown scale edges.

As with other Chromis species, damselfish must always be on their guard when predatory species approach in order to be able to flee quickly and hide, usually in Acropora corals.

The species is not sold in the specialized trade, photos of live damselfish are also very rare on the Internet, but the damselfish are not monitored by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

Similar species: Chromis randalli Greenfield & Hensley, 1970

Etymology:
Named in honor of Pamela J. McCosker, a slender specimen of comparable beauty.
