Info

Very special thanks for the first photo of Bodianus solatus to Chris "Chritto24".

Bodianus solatus is confined to the western coast of Australia between the Cape Lambert Monte Bello Islands, the Coral Bay and Bernier Island and the Houtman Abrolhos.
The Sunburnt Pigfish is occasionally caught by commercial trawlers and line fisher in deeper waters from 61-108 meters.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
